Now that the holidays are coming, more and more smartphones manufacturers are pushing out their best devices, with high end specs inside. Looking for an alternative to the iPhone 4S? What about these two Android-powered devices: DROID Razr and Galaxy S2. Side by side, which one is better to take into consideration? Let’s compare their internal specs to make your choice a little bit easier.
At first glance, from the outside, both smartphones look quite impressive and appealing, Moto’s upcoming DROID Razr featuring an interesting and stylish form factor. But what to expect from their specs? Or, should we say, which are your reasons to invest in a smartphone? Are you more into the camera section? Processor part? Or something else?

Despite its catchy appearance, the DROID Razr is thinner than the S2 with its 7.1mm at the thickest point. Furthermore, unlike the plastic construction and feel of the pupular Samsung Galaxy S2, the DROID Razr is more sturdy with a metal body, but the S2 is lighter with a few grams.
Both smartphones are equipped with a 4.3-inch touchscreen. While the Galaxy S2 uses the Super AMOLED Plus technology with a 800 x 480-pixels resolution, Moto’s DROID Razr has the qHD display with a higher resolution of 540×960 pixels and naturally a higher pixel density at 256 ppi. Each of these two phones come with almost the same features display: accelerometer, gyroscope or proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

In the camera section is practically a draw, with a small difference to the front facing camera. Galaxy S2 and DROID Razr are equipped with a rear 8 megapixel camera on the back with autofocus and LED flash. The S2 has a frontal 2MP camera for video calls, while the DROID Razr comes with a 1.3MP cam. Both are capable of 1080p full HD.
In terms of processors, both smartphones include a dual core ARM Cortex-A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with a TI OMAP 4430 chipset, respectively Samsung Exynos chipset. Regarding the RAM part, both have 1GB of memory. As far as the storage space is concerned, Motorola DROID Razr and Samsung Galaxy S2 have 16 GB of built-in mempry which can be expanded up to 32 GB via a microSD card slot.
Software wise, both smartphones run Google’s platform, Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread version with pre-installed apps and games. Rumors say that the DROID Razr could receive an upgrade for the Ice cream Sandwich, Android 4.0, but nothing has been confirmed yet. The DROID Razr has also an HDMI port, which lacks the S2, but it balances out with the NFC support.

One important feature for every consumer is the price tag. Samsung Galaxy S2 is available for $ 200 with a new two year contract for three major carriers: Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile. On the other side, the DROID Razr has just been announced to hit the market in a couple of days for an extra $100 after signing in for a new agreement via Verizon.
In conclusion, both smartphones include top rated specs, though the DROID Razr has a better display and undoutable a stylish look. However, both have similar processors and cameras, but a different price with contract.
