Having a hard time to make up your mind? Impressed about this super slim and stylish Galaxy S2 incorporating Super AMOLED Plus technology? What about the LG Optimus 2X, which is also a top rated Android phone available on the market.

We’ll put head-to-head both phones to see which one performs better. Starting with the display, we see two elegant, stylish and fashionable handsets. Probably you’ll say that the Galaxy S2 is more beautiful with its slimmer and lighter profile. In terms of specific dimensions, Galaxy S2 is taller, wider and, obviously, thinner, measuring 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5 mm compared to Optimus 2X that comes with 123.9 x 63.2 x 10.9 mm. Regarding the weight, Galaxy S2 is very light with only 116g, while the Optimus 2X measures 139g.

Taking a closer look at the display, we see some differences too. First off, the size of the display. Samsung Galaxy S2 has a larger 4.27-inch touchscreen 800 x 480 pixels resolution and a  Super AMOLED Plus technology for more clear and better image quality, making the display look sharper. It is also protected with Gorilla Glass technology. LG Optimus 2X integrates a smaller 4-inch IPS TFT capacitive touchscreen with the same resolution set at 480 x 800 pixels and featuring the same Gorilla Glass technology.

Speaking of the camera, the new version of the Galaxy S2 includes a higher performant 8 megapixel camera on the back plus autofocus, LED flash plus 1080p video recording accompanied by a 2 MP front-facing camera. On the other side, LG Optimus 2X is also equipped with a rear 8 MP camera with LED flash, autofocus and capturing 1080p and added by a secondary 1.3 MP cam for video calling.

Interested about the processor? Both Android smartphones include a dual-core processor. Samsung Galaxy S2 comes with a 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9processor, a Tegra 2 chipset plus a roomy 1GB of RAM. We find the same processor into the LG Optimus 2X, but with a lower capacity of RAM; only 512MB of RAM. Samsung Galaxy S2 has 16 GB built-in memory expandable up to 32GB, while the Optimus 2X includes only 8GB memory which can be expanded up to 32GB.

Focusing now on the software part, Samsung Galaxy S2 runs the latest version of Android 2.3, while LG Optimus 2X comes with Android 2.2, with a Gingerbread update already announced. As for the connectivity part, the Galaxy S2 has super-fast HSPA+ connectivity plus Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth 3.0 and provides a better standard battery Li-Po 1650 mAh which could deliver more life for the phone.
